Hi, I’m Geri
I love making cakes and the creative process. I am self-taught ~ thanks to YouTube. I've discovered that cake decorating is a form of expression for me. I make cakes occassionally for friends and have contributed to many special occassions both happy and solemn for all moments in life. I'm glad my cakes can make each celebration a little more special.
Inspirations
Alma is responsible for all the desserts created at Koukouvaya Cafe. Some of the desserts she had special pans custom-made for them. She and her brothers run a very popular cafe with the best views of Chania harbor. It's worth a visit. The Zoumero chocolate cake is a famous family recipe and it's packaged to travel!
Manong Fred
Batanes, Philippines
I met Manong Fred in the northernmost island of the Philippines ~ Batanes. He creates special order cakes for the locals there. He invited me one day to show me his operation. It was impressive since he does it alone and is very efficient and talented at what he does. He gained these skills while working in the Middle East.
Diane – YouTuber
Diane inspired me to create the GeriCake website after watching her video documenting the behind-the-scenes of a French bakery. She created this video on her own ~ camera and host (bravo!) ~ to give us a glimpse of how a French bakery operates everyday. Thanks Diane!
